Figure 1 shows the bathtub flat on the bed. Figure 2 shows the bathtub folded up and read for use. The bathtub does not have to be removed from the bed after showering or bathing. When not in use the bathtub remains on the bed covered by a bed sheet. The patient is not removed from the bed after being showered or bathed. Not removing the patient reduces the patient discomfort, the possibility of being dropped or injured.

When given a shower/bat in bed the caregivers physical effort is minimal, reducing backaches and strained muscles.

Being showered and bathed in the privacy of the bedroom increases the patient's dignity and
self-esteem.

No water has to be mopped up when using the BB-1

The bathtub can be used on most beds regardless of the patient size. The standard bathtub is 35 inches wide, 8 inches deep and the full length of the mattress. A sturdy steel frame supports the full length of the bathtub.

On the side of the bathtub there are hot and cold water faucets with a 6 foot long shower hose. The showerhead has two fingertip controls for adjusting the water spray and for turning the water on and off.

Furnished with the bathtub is a water supply system that can be connected to a sink faucet spout, or under the sink or to the washer machine faucets. None of the systems interfere with the use of the sink or washing machine. Draining the water from the bathtub is very simple. The water can be drained to a floor drain or pumped into a commode, sink or bathtub with our Automatic Drain AUDR-1. The AUDR-1 in not furnished with the bathtub. A plumber is not needed to connect the water source to the bathtub. . Please read the Shower Bath in Bed Water Sources data sheet.

Should the patient void in bed, cleaning the bed and patient can be done in a few minutes

The bathtub material is hospital grade and can be easily cleaned with soap and water. It is soft, pliable and will not cause patient discomfort.
