Shower Anywhere was founded by Murray Pechner in 1989. Mr. PECHNER, had a distinguished career as an electromechanical design engineer at aerospace companies. At Hughes Aircraft he help develop the Surveyor Spacecraft and various missile components. He started manufactured the first Shower Stall in 1989.
In his own words “My 40 year old daughter-in- law became her father's caregiver. He was a 68 years old and very independent. When he became ill, he could no longer access the built in shower stall in his house. My daughter-in-law therefore had to bath him. You can imagine how embarrassed and uncomfortable they both were. I designed and built a shower stall that he can access and use in his living room so he no longer needs her, or anyone’s assistance to shower. His self esteem and quality of life has improved tremendously”.
The need for portable showers and bathroom appliances for the handicapped as well as for sportsman, campers, and for those who need temporary facilities due to natural disasters soon became apparent and Shower Anywhere was born.
There are a number of reasons to choose a Shower Anywhere product. Our shower stalls cost thousands of dollars less than installing a permanent shower stall. The shower stall can be used in any room in a house.
Building permits are not required to use the shower stall in your house. Our shower stalls are completely portable they are not fastened to a wall or to the floor.
Shower Anywhere shower stalls are precision engineered consisting of three major components. The shower stall itself, two accessories, an automatic drain system (AUDR) and a choice of three water source kits (DWSK-1), (DWSK-2) and the (FCV-1). These accessories are optional. You can supply your own water source connections if you wish, and if you have a floor drain you will not need the automatic drain system. If you are mechanically inclined a plumber is not required to assemble the shower stall or connect a water source kit to the shower stall.
The shower stall basin (the part you stand in when showering) uses seamless construction made of FDA accepted linear polyethylene. The basin has a 10 year guarantee. The hoses that connect from the water source to the shower stall are in compliance with the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) standards, ensuring the hoses do not have containments that can be carried by the water when showering.
The shower stall curtains are made of commercial grade Vinyl that have Reinforced rust-resistant metal grommets for hanging. The curtains are extra heavy for increased durability. We have the curtains treated with an anti-mildew agent to resist germs, bacteria and mold. The standard color of the curtains is navy blue, other colors are available.
